Amnicot is a rubber latex finger cot with a hook attached. It can be placed over the index or middle finger of a gloved left or right had.

Rupturing the membranes becomes an easier procedure for the obstetrician or midwife and the patient.
Amnicot Features:

• Less Pain: One finger only and no other instrument is inserted through the cervix. Reduced cervical dilation causes less pain.
• Less Anxiety: The use of instruments can cause anxiety in the patient.
• Exact Placement of the Hook: The user can feel preciself where the hook is applied.
• Assistant Not Required: The user's other hand canstabilise the presenting part without the need for an assistant.
• Lithotomy Not Necessary: As the finger is a flexible instrument lithotomy is not necessary when the cervix is posterior.
